What is an External URL

The External ID is used where applications cannot accept the length of the Feedback URL. In these instances, we recommend that an External URL ID is created (this can be between 1 - 18 alpha numeric characters) and will create a unique shorter URL for users. Many third-party systems also have a unique ID for users which can be used as the evalyou8 external ID

Please note the External URL is unique to your organisation's users.
An example of the external URL ID is where a CRM has a unique ID number for you and in the global email signature in the CRM you would add the feedback URL as http://app.evalyou8.com/Feedback?xxx={crmuserID} when the CRM sees the {crmuserID} variable it is replaced with the users unique ID in the CRM which would have been entered in evalyou8.
